New Series product group for low price small cars in BRICs markets and others Development of constant velocity joint and hub joint as V series

NTN Corporation (hereafter NTN) has developed a new product group, “V (Value) series” of constant velocity joint (hereafter CVJ) and hub joint (module component) composed of a CVJ and a hub bearing (hereafter H/B). The V series will target drive shafts of low price vehicles in newly developing markets where demand for those vehicles is expected to increase.

In recent years, demand for low price vehicles is rapidly increasing in newly developing countries such as BRICs. NTN as a specialized manufacturer of H/B and CVJs, has developed a product group of “V series” CVJ and H/B which will feature a small size, light weight design with superior cost performance for low price cars by NTN's own advanced technologies.

- V series CVJ   more infomation
3 types of CVJ: VBJ for outboard, and VDJ and VTJ for inboard

- V series all-in-one type hub joint   more infomation
Inseparable all-in one type module product composed of H/B and CVJ

- V series detachable type hub joint   more infomation
Separable module product composed of H/B and CVJ
In response to market needs for low price vehicles in newly developing countries where price competitions are ever increasing, NTN will globally supply the “V series products” with superior cost performance.

[Features]

a. Superior cost performance
b. Small size and light weight
  · CVJ: O.D. reduced by 4 ~ 7%, mass reduced by 5 ~ 12% [compared with current CVJ (BJ, DO, TJ)]
  · Hub joint: Mass reduced by approx. 12% (compared with current H/B + CVJ)
c. High performance and improved assembly performance
  · No end play at a connecting position of CVJ and H/B
  · No occurrence of stick-slip noise*
  · V series joint can be integrated into a knuckle and a reduction in the assembly time is possible
*Stick-slip noise: Phenomenon that noise occurs at a contact surface between H/B and CVJ when torque is transmitted from CVJ to H/B.
