NTN will donate three units of its Hybrid Street Lights as part of inviting activities

NTN Corporation (hereafter, NTN) announces that it has become an official partner of the “2025 Japan World Expo Committee” which conducts activities to invite the World Expo that will take place in 2025 to Japan (Osaka). As a company that has established its head office in Osaka, NTN sympathizes with the Expo 2025 theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” and will therefore support its inviting activities.

Ever since its foundation in 1918, NTN has globally developed its business with its main products of bearings that reduce energy consumption by reducing friction. As part of its efforts to support the activities for Expo 2025 in Osaka, NTN will donate three units of its “NTN Hybrid Street Lights*¹” which generate power using wind and solar light. One unit will be donated to the Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building (Cosmo Tower) and the two other units will be donated to the Asia and Pacific Trade Center (both located at Nankokita, Suminoe-ku, Osaka) NTN celebrated the company's 100th anniversary this year on March 1, and NTN will use this opportunity to make efforts in new businesses that promote sustainable growth over the next 100 years. NTN will also use products such as “NTN Hybrid Street Lights” and “NTN Micro Hydro Turbines*²” which can generate power simply by placing it in existing water channels, to promote proposals for local power generation and consumption in its energy business utilizing natural energy. The “NTN Hybrid Street Lights” being donated will be used to create an opportunities for promoting local disaster and crime prevention, and to think about energy saving to realize a sustainable society.

NTN will fulfill its role as an official partner by increasing awareness to attract more attention in the future, conducting the activities to help create opportunities, and by cooperating with all 2025 Japan World Expo Committee members and partner company personnel in supporting the activities to realize the World Expo 2025 being held in Osaka in 2025.
