The NTN Group uses a wide range of materials such as resins, sintered metals and magnetic materials, as well as advanced technologies such as fluid hydrodynamic technology for the development of units and module products consisting of sliding bearings, and electrical and machine parts, and markets them as composite material products.

In addition to using materials such as resins sintered metals and magnetic and fluid hydrodynamic technology by itself tribology and precision machining technologies are applied for their integration and composite use to create materials with new characteristics that meet market needs.

A high-standard global development and production system by gathering NTN group's expertise.

NTN established the new "Composite Material Product Division" in 2011 to enforce operations involving various material technologies, including plastic products and sintered metal products. The Composite Material Products Division consolidates and integrates NTN's precision machining technology and fluid dynamic pressure technology with the technologies of NTN ENGINEERING PLASTICS CORP.(the present ENGINEERING PLASTICS WORKS) and NTN Advanced Materials Corporation to create a synergy, and boost R&D and market deployment of sliding bearings, machine parts, magnetic materials and unit module products that are used in the automotive and industrial industries.

A global production system has also been established so that in addition to Japan, precision products can also be produced at composite material product plants operated by NTN Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

* In December 2015, NTN POWDER METAL CORP. and NIPPON KAGAKU YAKIN CO., LTD. were merged and the resulting company changed its name with the aim of improving developmental capabilities for new products and increasing the speed of development.
