Cast iron pillow block type

This typical type of bearing unit is equivalent to the combination of a widely used plumber block and an automatic self-aligning bearing. Fitting to a shaft can be done easily, simply by fastening ball-point set screws. This type is most widely used in transmission mechanisms, general machinery and similar.

A steel plate or cast iron cover is fitted to the outside of the cast iron bearing housing, effectively preventing entry of dust under usage conditions with high levels of dust or moisture. This type is suitable for locations with high dust levels (e.g., conveyors for transporting earth and sand) and where the bearing is exposed to moisture (e.g., conveyors for dairy products or food manufacturing).

Thick pillow block type

Compared to other pillow block types, this model has a thicker bearing housing, providing a greater rigidity that is advantageous for high impact loads. The mounting bolt holes are bored, so positioning can be done accurately. This type is suitable for use in overhead traveling cranes and similar.

This pillow block type bearing has a higher center than standard models. It is suitable for roller conveyors located at a high position relative to the equipment mounting surface, in woodworking or printing machinery and similar.

The bottom of the bearing housing has threaded holes for mounting bolts, so the width of the bearing housing is narrower than a standard pillow block unit. This type is suitable for situations where a narrower roller pitch is needed, as in a curved roller.

This unit has a lighter, smaller bearing housing compared to a standard cast iron pillow block type, and the ball bearings combined with this housing are designed for lower weight by using the AS2, AEL2 and CS2 models. This type is suitable for small equipment, or when the installation space is cramped.

This type has a bearing housing made of precision pressed steel plate. It has high rigidity while retaining light weight and compactness, and thus is suitable for packaging equipment, small blowers, printing machinery, agricultural machinery and other applications with limitations on mounting space and weight. The ASPP2 and ASRPP2 models use the set screw system, and the AELPP2 and AELRPP2 models use the eccentric collar system.

This square shaped bearing housing can be mounted on the side walls of machinery and similar using four bolts. The construction around the bearing is simple and mounting is easy. This is the most widely used flange type.

A covered unit has a steel plate or cast iron cover mounted on the outside of the bearing housing, making it suitable for locations such as outdoor conveyors that are exposed to rain or high dust levels.

Square flange type with spigot joint

This type is for medium loads. It fits into a frame and has a cylindrical spigot joint on the mounting side of a square bearing housing. The unit can be easily mounted so it is suitable for locations subject to a medium load where mounting precision is required. It is used for the main shafts of agitators and similar.

This type fits into a frame and has a cylindrical spigot joint on the mounting side of a square bearing housing. It allows accurate positioning with low eccentricity during mounting and is suitable for drum pulleys and similar.

Rhombus flange type

This bearing housing is rhombus shaped and is designed to enable mounting with two bolts. Multiple bearings can be mounted in a line where space is cramped, making this type suitable for locations such as conveyors where the bearing unit mounting pitch is limited.
A covered unit has a steel plate or cast iron cover mounted on the outside of the bearing housing, making it suitable for outdoor conveyors that are exposed to rain or high dust levels.
The pitch of mounting bolt holes is the same as the diagonal bolt hole pitch of the square flange type bearing, so there is compatibility between the two types.

This is a rhombus flange type with a slotted, arc-shaped mounting bolt hole on one side. It is suitable as a tension pulley bearing for conveyor pressure rollers, belts and chains where the shaft center must be adjusted during mounting, or where the shaft center must be moved during use.

This bearing housing has all the mounting bolt holes on one side of the housing, so it can be used in the same way as the pillow block type, by mounting in a location such as the side wall of the equipment bed.

This unit is designed to be even lighter and more compact than a standard rhombus flange type unit, and is suitable for small machinery and locations where the installation space is cramped. Three types can be configured, by combining with different ball bearings for the unit.

The design of this type combines a precision pressed bearing housing made of steel plate with a sealed radial ball bearing. The lightweight unit can be installed where there is little space. The bearing housing can be separated, so it is easily mounted and is suitable primarily for stable light loads, such as shelling machinery. The ASPF2 and ASRPF2 models use the set screw system, and the AELPF2 and AELRPF2 models use the eccentric collar system.

This type has a slide groove in the bearing housing that allows the bearing housing to be freely moved. It is used in locations where between-shaft distance must be adjusted. There is no problem even if the shaft center is moved during rotation, so this type is suitable for sprocket shafts for chains and similar.

A covered unit has a steel plate or cast iron cover mounted on the outside of the bearing housing, making it suitable for civil engineering machinery exposed to rain and mud, such as conveyors for transporting earth and sand, and bucket conveyors.

In this type, the outer perimeter of the bearing housing is cylindrical and finished to h7 precision, and the bearing outer bore and bearing housing inner bore are spherical. The overall unit is thereby self-aligning and also allows free movement in the axial direction. For long shafts, this type is used for the free side bearing to allow for expansion or contraction of the shaft produced by temperature differences.

This type is designed by minimizing the cross-sectional area in the direction vertical to the shaft, making the unit suitable for intermediate bearings in screw conveyors. It is mounted by suspending from a pipe or similar screwed into the hole provided on one side.

This unit combines a channel steel frame with a bearing unit. It is designed to allow the bearing unit to move freely in the frame, so there is no need to provide a separate take-up mechanism and the unit can be mounted simply by fastening with bolts. This type is primarily used in locations where the shaft center must be moved, i.e. to adjust a belt or chain.

This unit combines an angle steel frame with a bearing unit. The steel plate Mini Stretcher Unit is compactly designed with a highly rigid steel plate frame, a simple shape and a wide adjustment range. It saves mounting space and weight, and is suitable for conveyors in light-duty applications such as agricultural, food product and packaging machinery. The ASPT model uses the set screw system, and the AELPT model uses the eccentric collar system.

Adapter type

The adapter type bearing unit can be reliably secured to the shaft even when it is subjected to impact loads and vibrations.
Under any operating conditions, this bearing unit can be used on a straight shaft whose fit grade is as poor as h9. Remember, however, this bearing unit must not be used on a shaft that is subjected to great axial load.

Eccentric locking collar type

When installing the eccentric collar type bearing unit, tighten the eccentric collar by turning it in the shaft rotating direction to secure the shaft to the inner ring. As a result, the shaft is reliably coupled with the inner ring and virtually no deformation occurs to the inner ring of the bearing. However, this bearing unit is not recommended for the machines which can run forward and backward, since the eccentric collar can loosen.

Tight fit type

The raceway ring can be supported with equal load over the entire circumference by providing an interference margin between the bearing inner diameter and the shaft fitting surface.
It has advantage of maintaining the bearing load capacity and hardly generating vibration,
On the other hand, this type may ruin the easiness of mounting and dismounting the bearing.
In addition, inappropriate fitting may result in bearing breakage or short life, so it is necessary to examine the selection thoroughly.
