Serena Sonoda, a member of NTN Track & Field Club, will represent Japan in the women's 35km race walk at the 18th World Athletics Championships, which will begin on July 15, 2022 in Oregon, the U.S.

Sonoda will represent Japan as she won at the 106th JAAF Athletics Championships held in April this year and surpassed the record to represent. It is first time for her to compete in the World Championships. We would like to ask for your warm support.

Comment from Sonoda

Although I am a little nervous as it is first time for me to represent Japan, I will enjoy the challenge in the world stage without forgetting how proud and grateful I am to be able to participate. I will do my best to prepare until the day to give my best performance. I would like to give a good report to everyone at my company and people who always give me a lot of support.

I will do everything I can do in the competition without giving up until the end. Thank you very much for your support.
