NTN Participates in “TELEWORK DAYS 2019”July 23, 2019Press Release

Promote further utilization of telework system to achieve a work-life balance

NTN Corporation (hereafter, NTN) is promoting the development of work environments to achieve work-life balances for each employee. NTN registered on and will participate in the “TELEWORK DAYS 2019” *1 which is a social movement of the work style reform promoted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industrial with the aim of further use of telecommuting initiative and raising employee awareness.

NTN has designated the implementation period of telework day from July 22 to August 2 (Friday). Especially on July 24, NTN will promote the telework all together in the company. We will also promote the telework with various patterns during the period.

As we expand our business globally, NTN is creating working environment where various people can play an active role regardless of race, gender, or work style. We provide the support for employees' carrier such as adopting a human resource system that allows employees to choice their carrier according their values and life plans, and establishing an intra-company child daycare center and expanding its system of reduced working hours. As a part of these supports, our telework system started in April of this year. At the same time as the renewal of our core system, we will also actively utilize the cloud system to create an IT environment that enables to work speedy and safely regardless of the time and the location. Through participating in “TELEWORK DAYS” 2019, NTN aims to further disseminate telework initiative among employees and raise awareness of work-life balance. At the same time, we will verify the results of these activities and further expand telecommuting initiative.

  1. “TELEWORK DAYS” is an initiative of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Collaborating with relevant ministries and organizations, the ministries designated July 24, the day where the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympicis planned to be held, as “TELEWORK DAY” and call on companies to conduct telework nationwide every year on July 24 until 2020. The initiatives started in 2017, and “TELEWORK DAYS 2018” was expanded and included more than 300,000 people from 1,682 organizations. The “TELEWORK DAYS” 2019 will be implemented from Monday, July 22, to Friday, September 6.

* The Tokyo Office will also participate in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's “Smooth Biz”, the initiative to relieve traffic congestion.
