NTN Establishes a New Corporate Philosophy System and Code of Conduct “NTN Spirit”May 10, 2018Press Release

Promoting the practice of greater association and understanding of corporate philosophy with your work

NTN Corporation (hereafter, NTN) has established a corporate philosophy system and code of conduct “NTN Spirit”, a new corporate philosophy system on this occasion. This is newly established to achieve “a company where its corporate philosophy is understood by all employees around the world and where all employees think and act for themselves” as stated in NTN's long-term vision. The purpose of this is to further deepen employee's understanding of corporate philosophy and encourage employees to put into practice corporate philosophy by associating it with their own work while they perform their everyday tasks.

NTN has been moving forward with activities that spread corporate philosophy as part of its 100th anniversary activities. With a focus on the younger generation of employees, who are responsible for the next generation, NTN conducted a questionnaire survey about corporate philosophy targeting NTN Group employees all over the world. It took about two years to complete the corporate philosophy system and code of conduct based on such things as key words, beliefs and mottos valued highly so far by each regional office and affiliated company.

NTN will use “NTN Spirit,” the newly established corporate philosophy code of conduct as a cornerstone of its own work, and put the corporate philosophy “We shall contribute to international society through creating new technologies and developing new products” into practice during employee's everyday tasks more than ever, and contribute towards achieving a smooth society.

1. New corporate philosophy system

The new corporate philosophy system is based on founder's spirit “Frontier spirit” and “Coexistence and co-prosperity spirit” and with “MISSION” and “VALUES” at its top. It will change to a system that consists of the “NTN Spirit,” a corporate philosophy code of conduct that clearly states what awareness and behavior employees in the NTN Group should aim for.

2. Corporate philosophy code of conduct “NTN Spirit”

“NTN Spirit” is a corporate philosophy code of conduct that clearly states what awareness and behavior we want each individual employee in the NTN Group to aim for based on the corporate philosophy. “NTN Spirit” consists of three credos and nine guidelines. The three credos are based on the image of a growing tree. They are a “Buds appear when we [Challenge] with frontier spirit”, “Leaves grow through spirit of [Collaboration] with coexistence and co-prosperity” and “Flowers bloom and fruits grow through fulfilling our commitments.” These three credos are replaced by words put into practice as the nine guidelines by identifying them with daily work settings.
