NTN Forms NTN HOUDATSU SHIMIZU CORPORATION for The Extra large size bearing

NTN Corporation (hereafter NTN) will establish NTN HOUDATSU SHIMIZU CORPORATION in the city of Hakui, Ishikawa Prefecture to manufacture the extra large size bearing.

1.Purpose of the new company

The demand for the extra large size bearing, which are used in large-scale equipment such as construction machinery and wind turbine facilities, has been increasing due to vigorous resource development, infrastructure improvement and the use of natural energy to preserve the environment.
While NTN manufactures the extra large size bearing at Kuwana Works, we have decided to increase its capacity by creating a new company in Hakui, Ishikawa in order to respond to the growing demand for such products. Locally available Monozukuri (production) technology covers all processes, allowing full-scale bearing production. Companies providing such services include NTN HAKUI CORPORATION (turning process); HAKUI MARUZEN CORPORATION (forging expertise) and other companies with heat-treating techniques for large bearings.

2.Schedule

NTN will establish the new company in April 2008 and start operation in October 2009. The operation will start with about 100 employees and then expand to become the core of the extra large size bearing business, one of NTN's strategic products.
