China Wind Power 2017

NTN will run a booth at the Beijing International Wind Power Exhibition “China Wind Power 2017.”

Based on the theme of “The Future of Wind Turbines – NTN technical capability for smooth wind turbines,” we will introduce items such as monitoring-based failure detection technology and products that contribute towards improvements in reliability, size increases and off-shore construction, factors that are required for next generation wind turbines.

The booth will showcase many products used in wind turbines such as generator bearings that maintain insulation performance and main shaft bearings that include our new product the “Asymmetrical Spherical Roller Bearings.” We will also hold a demonstration using a TV monitor of the monitoring functions available from “Wind Doctor™,” which is a condition monitoring system (CMS) for wind turbines that can constantly monitor the status of bearings from a remote location.

We look forward to seeing you at the event.

Main exhibits

“Asymmetrical Spherical Roller Bearings” for wind turbine main shafts

Using an asymmetrical design for left and right roller rows inside bearings, we have increased the calculated operating life of the bearing by approximately 2.5-times compared to conventional products and reduced the PV value by approximately 30% for better wear-resistance characteristics.

Condition Monitoring System for wind turbines “Wind Doctor™”

A CMS configured with the world's smallest data collection device, measuring sensor, and also data control, monitoring and analysis software. Acquired Japan's first GL certification (wind turbine certification system).
