NTN Corporation (hereafter, NTN) has been selected as a constituent of three indices: the “FTSE Blossom Japan Index” announced by FTSE Russell based in U.K. and the “MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index” and the “MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index” announced by MSCI based in U.S.

The Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) announced*1 on July 3, 2017 that it adopts these three indices as ESG indices when investing in stocks taking into account the Environmental (E), Social (S) and Governance (G) factors.

NTN will continue to make active efforts and disclose information in relation to ESG practices.

Information on indices in which NTN has been included

1. FTSE Blossom Japan Index *2

An ESG broad index reflecting the performance of Japanese companies that demonstrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. It is designed to be sector-neutral, and consists of companies that, based on ESG performance, satisfy a variety of requirements concerning the environmental, social and governance performance.

2. MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index *3

An ESG broad index developed by selecting companies with a high ESG performance from within its parent index, the “MSCI Japan IMI Top 500 Index”. This selection method is used to reduce sector bias that tends to arise in the process of selecting companies that have high ESG performance.

Number of constituents: 251 (as of June 2017)

3. MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index *4

An index developed by selecting companies with a leading gender diversity performance from within its parent index, the “MSCI Japan IMI Top 500 Index”. This index has been developed to support institutional investors seeking exposure to companies that are promoting and maintaining gender diversity among their workforce.

Number of constituents: 212 (as of June 2017)
