Press Connect Spline Hub Joint Wins Silver Trophy at “EQUIP AUTO 2015” in ParisNovember 19, 2015Press Release

NTN Group was awarded the Silver Trophy in the OEM & New Technologies Category at the International Exhibition for Automotive Aftersales and Services “EQUIP AUTO 2015” held in Paris, France in October for the “Press Connect Spline Hub Joint*” that it developed.

“EQUIP AUTO” is the largest exhibition in France for the automotive aftermarket. Every other year the exhibition is held, the most outstanding new technologies are selected in each category as part of the International Grands Prix for Automotive Innovation, with manufacturers that were awarded the gold and silver awards presented with their awards during the event.

NTN's “Press Connect Spline Hub Joint” is a hub joint that uses a proprietary pressed connect method for a lightweight design and no backlash in spline joints. The bolt connection structure between the constant velocity joint and 3rd generation hub bearing makes assembly possible on the vehicle production line.

The developed product drastically reduces weight, contributing to improvements in fuel efficiency and reductions in CO2 emissions, while eliminating the backlash in spline joints helps to improve ride comfort and handling. These qualities were valued highly, and were recognized with this award.

This year, there were five categories in total: OEM & New Technologies; Spare Parts & Aftermarket; Connectivity; Services - Service Areas - Aftermarket; and Garage Equipment. Hundreds of companies submitted products, and NTN-SNR was the company selected for the silver trophy in the OEM & New Technologies Category.
