NTN will run a booth at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition “Auto China 2018”.
With the theme “NTN's advanced technology supporting next-generation electric vehicles,” the booth will feature exhibits of system products and various bearings designed for next-generation vehicles. This year the booth will be jointly run with Chinese automotive design and production manufacturer Changchun Fawsn Auto Tech Co., Ltd. (hereafter, FSAT). The booth will feature the first exhibit of the new energy-efficient vehicle equipped with the air-cooled in-wheel motor drive system and vehicle dynamics control technology (i2-Drive System)*1. Other exhibits will include EV system products such as the Two Motor On-board Drive System and Electromechanical Brake System with Parking Brake, as well as the hub bearings, driveshafts and other core products used in them.
We look forward to seeing you at the event.

Main exhibits
World's first EV*2 with In-wheel Motor
Equipped with NTN's proprietary developed In-wheel Motor Drive System and i2-Drive System
Unveiling the new energy-efficient vehicle featuring lightweight technology from FSAT using a CFRP body and cast aluminum chassis, together with the In-wheel Motor Drive System developed by NTN and vehicle dynamics control technology.
*2) As a passenger vehicle
In-wheel Motor Drive System
More compact and lightweight with the use of a reducer, the system can be retrofitted to MacPherson strut layouts that are commonly used in front-wheel drive vehicles, without requiring any new designs. The “i2-Drive System” vehicle dynamics control technology that is used with the In-wheel Motor Drive System in the new energy-efficient vehicle controls the torque delivered to each wheel directly for different levels of drive force at the left and right wheels. Precise control of the generated yaw moments enhances steering capabilities. Various sensors assist with the vehicle's posture to help maintain stability.
Two Motor On-board Drive System
A drive system for next-generation EV with the left and right wheels powered by individual motors. Using individual motors to drive the left and right wheels and controlling the drive power of each wheel to suit the driving conditions improves driving stability and turning capability drastically over the conventional one motor type system. Optimally designed hub bearings and driveshafts are supplied as a package for better performance and cost efficiency.
Electromechanical Brake System with Parking Brake
A braking system that operates the brake pads with an electric motor and separate linear drive mechanism for finer and safer brake control. Regenerative braking coordinated control helps to improve electrical efficiency of EV and HEV. The addition of a parking brake function further increases convenience.
